anoftalm\u00eda y la microftalmia son defectos de nacimiento en los ojos del beb\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>La anoftalm\u00eda es un defecto de nacimiento en el cual el beb\u00e9 nace sin uno o ambos ojos.<\/p>\n<p>La microftalmia es un defecto de nacimiento en el cual uno o ambos ojos no se desarrollaron completamente, y por lo tanto son peque\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tratamiento<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>No existe un tratamiento disponible con el cual se pueda restaurar la visi\u00f3n completa de aquellos bebes afectados por la anoftalm\u00eda o microftalmia.<\/p>\n<p>Los beb\u00e9s que nazcan con una de estas afecciones deben ser vistos por un equipo de m\u00e9dicos especialistas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Un oftalm\u00f3logo, que es un m\u00e9dico especialista.<\/li>\n<li>Un ocularista, especializado en la fabricaci\u00f3n a medida de conformadores espansores para su tratamiento.<\/li>\n<li>Un cirujano oculopl\u00e1stico, m\u00e9dico especialista en la cirug\u00eda de los ojos y de la cuenca ocular.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Las cuencas de los ojos son muy importantes para que la cara del beb\u00e9 se desarrolle y crezca adecuadamente.<\/p>\n<p>Si un beb\u00e9 tiene una de estas afecciones, los huesos que le dan forma a la cuenca del ojo podr\u00edan no crecer adecuadamente.<\/p>\n<p>A los beb\u00e9s se les debe adaptar conformadores que puede ayudar a que la cuenca del ojo y los huesos crezcan adecuadamente.<\/p>\n<p>A medida que el beb\u00e9 crece, se debe ir cambiando el conformador, para un desarrollo correcto siendo siempre el especialista el que determina cada cuando se cambia, a trav\u00e9s de revisiones peri\u00f3dicas.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez pasado los dos a\u00f1os o cundo el especialista lo determine se podr\u00e1 adaptar una pr\u00f3tesis ocular definitiva, la cual se cambian con mucha menos frecuencia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
